Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 27 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-27

Koot is private by design, which makes it more important that people use it responsibly. This policy is part of the Terms of Service.

In plain words. Use Koot for lawful work. Do not use it to harm people, deceive them, break the law, attack systems, or abuse the relay. We cannot see your content, but we can suspend an organisation that breaks these rules.

01What you must not do

You and your members must not use Koot to:

02Administrators are responsible for their organisation

The organisation, through its administrators, is responsible for how its members use Koot and for who receives invite codes. Remove members who no longer need access and keep codes private.

03What we can and cannot do

Because content is encrypted on your devices, we cannot see it, and we do not monitor it. We can act on the account information we hold: warn an organisation, limit or switch off relay access, suspend an organisation or a member, and stop new sign-ins. We cannot delete content from your devices.

04Reporting misuse

If you believe Koot is being used in breach of this policy, tell us through the Report misuse page. Please include what happened, when, and any organisation name or device name you know.

05Enforcement

Depending on how serious a breach is, we may warn, limit features, suspend or end an organisation or member, and report to the authorities where the law requires or allows. We may act without notice where there is a risk of serious harm or a legal duty.

06Changes

We may update this policy; the date above shows the current version. Questions: contact@gamisya.com.
